Venue

Bernardin Resort and Conference Center is located half-way between Portoroz, the major tourist resort on the Slovenian Adriatic coast and Piran, a medieval town with a rich history. It is composed of the 5-star Grand Hotel Bernardin with the conference center on its top three floors high above the sea, the 4-star Histrion Hotel and the 3-star Vile Park Hotel.

From Bernardin, you can walk to either Portoroz or Piran (15 min) or drive to other towns or beaches on the Istrian Peninsula. Trieste (Italy) is just 30 km to the North, Porec (Croatia) is 45 km to the South. Secovlje salt pans are only about 10 km away; there is a small museum and a part of the area is a nature reserve. If you can spend some more time, you can visit the amphitheatre of Pula (Croatia, 90 km) or Venice (Italy, 150 km). Organized tours can lead you to the inland where the majestic Postojna Cave and the Lipica stud farm are located, as well as to the nearby countryside.
